Welcome to the STAR NET Region II website!

Illinois STAR NET is a Support and Technical Assistance Regional NETwork. We provide training, assistance on request, and resources to parents of young children with special needs and professionals in the early childhood community.

STAR NET Region II serves parents and professionals in North and West Suburban Cook, Du Page, Kane, Lake, and McHenry counties.

STAR NET Mission

Illinois STAR NET provides a variety of opportunities for personal and professional growth for those parents and professionals who touch the lives of young children, ages birth through eight, with an emphasis on children with special needs. STAR NET supports family-centered, researched and effective practices in early childhood education and care.

Our Early Childhood Community Focus Group

Our Focus Group is made up of Parents and Professionals representing the counties we serve. The voluntary Focus Group provides information, insight, and feedback regarding the activities of STAR NET Region II.

Take a look at the STAR NET Library!
The STAR NET Region II Library is constantly updating the materials available for loan including books, videos and DVD's. Recent additions include books on Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism, Behavior, Curriculum and Inclusion. Take a look and call us at 224/366-8579 with the shelf numbers and we will be happy to mail the materials out to you.

Autism/PDD Training and Technical Assistance Project lending library
In addition to the materials on autism that are available in the STAR NET Region II Library, STAR NET Region II also houses one of the Illinois Autism/PDD Training and Technical Assistance Project lending libraries that are located across the state. A wide variety of resources are available to parents, professionals and the community. Please contact us at (224) 366-8579 for more information about these materials and to help you select materials for autism-related loans from STAR NET.
